High hopes I had for that day, hours trapped with my thoughts. Feelings hidden, words unspoken. She invaded my space with her presence. Diverted my mind for a season, and caused a total loss of reason. Laughter flowed from within, as we shared precious moments. Moments that once departed cannot again be captured. Tomorrow seemed so far away, no promise that it would ever come. Today, now, was all that mattered and a flight that soon must end. A rose that causes pause, a forest with leaves aglow, and a poem that reached across the river of life, that separates us all. Last of seven, she turned out to be, a son, loved so much, now joined to another, a daughter swift of foot, and a family apart, yet together. Students who cherished the time they spent with someone who cared enough to say: "It matters to me who you become." All this, and more, on Flight 1950 was shared by she with me. Only time can say if more I'll learn from seat 18A. And time does not tell... until the moment comes. |
